Sister Bay Wisconsin
The first day, we went in one bay and caught little, the next day we switched bays and caught one or two. The next day we went back to the same bay, and it was windy, so we caught nothing (Salmon usually don't bit much in six foot swells, luckily we had a big boat though :) ). The next day we went to another bay and caught little. The day after that we went back to the bay we caught little in and the next two days we caught one or two fish. Now, the funny part is that the Salmon hadn't moved into the bay we kept fishing in yet, they were in the second bay we had gone to, but whenever we went there it was windy so it wasn't productive so we didn't know... until some buddies from the camp site asked, "So how many fish did you catch this morning?" Our response, "Well one 17.6 pounder." They replied, "Yeah, we got 7 or 8 and so did Chuck, we were over in the other bay, the Salmon haven't moved over to the bay you were fishing in yet." Mind you this was the last day we had open to fish.... Ah well. One cool thing though, I caught a Steelhead.. 9 pounds. It only took me my whole vacation to figure out what exactly a stealhead was... at first I was excited about catching a new fish that I had never caught before, and later I learned that I had caught a steelhead before, since they are really rainbow trout, they just change colors to silvery in the summer... but hey, it was the biggest one I have ever caught thus far.
