Hibbing, single people need not apply
I recently visited Hibbing, Minnesota and I realize now why I moved far far away. The times have changed, so to speak. What once harbored many single, fun loving people now harbors married, fun loving parents. Yuck, what are the Hibbingites thinking!
It was great to see many smiling friendly people that are better at making a person feel wlecome then any other congregation of people I know of. Yes, Hibbing is a welcoming place by far, and I miss it dreafully for the preaching is grand, the people sincere, and the place warms ones heart. One problem stands in the way! I have no children, and for one who does not want children it is best to run far far away before one gets sucked into the mess of parenthood. Perhaps I need to visit Echo lake next time, where I feel much more in my element without talking about babys, marriages, and all that goes along with these subjects. Congratualtions to all who have fulfilled some of there dreams. I myself refuse such things, for care free singlehood is the way to go. If you can't beat them, move!!!!
Course, it is a good thing that most of you do not know that I spent the next five hours after church with my best friend and her one month old son. No one needs to know this! Of course my first reaction was to stare at the child thinking, what are we suppose to do with THAT thing! I did warm up eventually, but I would never make a good parent. I would be liable to leave the child in the truck and forget about it, or be over protective and not leave its side. No..... I prefer my children that run away and commit crimes. Children that I can leave at the end of the day, children I get paid to watch, and children who do all the cleaning. Yes, let freedom continue on!

I guess I'll have to change the nice warm friendly feel people get when they come here.
