The non-winter horseback ride

No I didn't go on my winter ride yet... I managed to Finagle my way out of it yesterday. Now, today is a different story.....
So here is the non-winter horseback riding story: Yesterday, all throughout the morning, my Mom kept hinting on how cold it was, the wind chill, and so on. I knew what she was hinting at, but being the prideful creature I was, I didn't want to sound like a wus to Adam, so I responded to my Mom's query by stating "I will let Adam make that call, if he is stupid enough to go out, I will freeze my butt off too." My Mom then exclaims, "Are you calling Adam stupid!" Urrr... ummmm..... I then went on to undo my words, and stated, "No Mom, I meant it would be stupid of him if he came out in this weather, but you know men." My Mom then continued to state, "I don't know, you guys are nuts." I resignedly stated, "Fine, I will call him and cancel." My Mom then replies, "that is not what I meant." Sure.... Mom, I can read between the lines. I then tactfully decided on a truce, and stated, "I will just go walk out in the north field and see how cold it is. So I bundled up in long johns, a shirt, another shirt, a sweat shirt, a vest jacket, a carhart jacket, gloves, really warm boots, and a head band and headed out. I called to my dog as I trotted off, and she followed me to the tree line before hitting the brakes, refusing to budge another step. I braved the winds, and stepped into their full force feeling a stinging on my face, but hey, I am stupid. So I yelled to my dog, and motioned for her to come, and she just stood there and stood there and stood there some more, staring at me like I was stupid or something! The burning started to get worst after walking a short way out, so I walked back towards the barn, and my dog followed me in there. Once in the barn, I attempted to groom my horse, but the hair was stuck in tiny frozen ice drops throughout her coat and mane. I groomed her for twenty minutes, stared at the fields, and thought, nope riding wouldn't be too much fun at the moment. So I gleefully called Adam and left a message stating, "Well, I went for a walk in the field, and it was too cold out to go, my dog wouldn't even follow me out, and your Mom said she doesn't want us roping off Hunter until she trains him on roping herself, so there isn't a whole lot to do in this weather, if you want we can try again tomorrow, but I don't think it is going to get much better. If the wind dies down we might be alright. It is up to you, just give me a call if you are interested." Once again I gave him the out, and then I left my house hoping he would get the message because he was suppose to get off at 3:30 and meet me at my house, but it was 3:00 and I had other friends to meet! :) So, at 3:20 I get a message on my cell phone, "Hey I got your call you wimp, too cold huh? I even got off early for you, no, just kidding. Well, lets try to go out tomorrow then, I will go to work early, so I can leave a little earlier. Give me a call if you want to wus out on me again." What!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wimp!! Wus!!!! Oh bring it on Adam!!!! we are going no matter what now buddy, I hope you dress warm! I gave him two outs now, a good reason to back out, and he still wants to stick around??!? MEN!!!!!!!
